Lean Supervisory Management
In this program, we’ll introduce you to the fundamental principles and practices of lean thinking, tailored specifically for supervisory roles. Lean is more than a set of tools—it’s a mindset focused on maximizing value and minimizing waste. As a supervisor, you’ll play a crucial role in leading your team towards these goals.
Our training will start by demystifying lean principles, such as understanding what constitutes value from the customer’s perspective and identifying various types of waste in your processes. You’ll learn practical tools like the 5S methodology, which helps organize and maintain your workspace efficiently, time study, and motion study, work measurement, etc. which allows you to visualize and improve workflow.
We’ll also cover how to effectively lead your team through lean transformations, engage them in continuous improvement, and manage change smoothly. Through interactive exercises and real-world examples, you’ll gain the skills to implement lean practices effectively and foster a culture of continuous improvement in your workplace.
Prepare to transform your approach to supervision and drive meaningful improvements in your team’s performance. Let’s embark on this journey towards operational excellence and innovation together!
Course Objectives
After the course, participants will be able to:
- comprehend the core concepts of lean management, including its definition, principles, and historical evolution from the Toyota Production System to contemporary practices. Recognize the benefits of lean in enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing customer value.
- define and deliver value from the customer’s perspective. Identify and eliminate the seven types of waste (Muda) including overproduction, waiting, transport, extra processing, inventory, motion, and defects. Embrace a culture of continuous improvement (Kaizen) for ongoing, incremental enhancements.
- master essential lean tools such as the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) for organizing and maintaining workspaces, and Standard Work for ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
- lead by example, demonstrating lean behaviour and practices. Learn to engage and empower team members to contribute ideas and participate in lean activities. Use lean problem-solving tools like the 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagram to address and resolve root causes of issues.
- support lean culture and manage change effectively by overcoming resistance and ensuring smooth implementation of lean practices. Learn to monitor progress, measure outcomes, and make necessary adjustments to sustain lean improvements over time.
- engage in practical applications. Analyze real-world case studies to understand successful lean implementations and key takeaways. Participate in interactive workshops to practice lean tools applying theoretical knowledge in hands-on scenarios.
